Lab
Purpose of Lab
- Provide worthwhile services to the University and community.
- Spread knowledge of the theory and practice of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and allied fields.
- Help with the professional development of members.
To accomplish these goals, we structure the lab to provide several core functions:
- Provide a clean, well-lighted working space, available at convenient hours, in which people can perform feats of engineering commensurate with their status as recognized by the organization.
- Provide bookshelves, filled with books by men recognized as learned in their fields, from which people may learn about the theory and practice of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and allied fields.
- Provide food and drink, to nourish the bodies and minds of those in need.
- Provide an area online, which will regularly post news, developments in our field, and the feats of engineering accomplished by those who use the lab's facilities. This forum will be promoted with the goal of enhancing the professional development of those who use it.
- Provide a healthy but economical supply of quality components and tools, available at a fair price, and a way for all practioners of the art in the area to order components and tools at a rate improportionate to the number ordered.
Available Equipment
- Six computers free for use with MATLAB, Labview, Solidworks, Visual Studio 2005, and more.
- Two Xilinx FPGAs with Calinx boards for your own projects and CS150.
- Oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
- A large collection of electrical components: resistors, capacitors, wires, and transistors.
